Desert Island

I don't know if the radio programme Desert Island Discs is still running - I never actually listened to it, and I think it was on when I was a child - but I've now found the The Book I would take with me: The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. I'm on page 180, and I'd even settle for those first 180 pages. Fortunately, I don't have to.

Desert Island Discs is of course still runnnig; the presenter, Kirsty Young (ex-Five newsreader) took over a year or so from Sue Lawley who presented it for many years. It's one the few programmes on BBC radio, however, where the 'listen again' system doesn't operate, because of copyright restrictions on unlimited repeats of the music choices of guests.
